Integrated Water Resources Management
Module Description
The training module will comprehensively explore the importance of adequate water resources management in Tajikistan and Central Asia and institutional arrangements for IWRM in Tajikistan. The training module delves into the complexities of water resources management, focusing on the interactions between social, technical, economic, and environmental factors. It addresses the principles and critical aspects of integrated water resources management (IWRM), considering lessons learned from the global and Central Asian region. In addition, a separate block of practical sessions will be devoted to the experience of implementing water sector reforms and introducing IWRM principles in Tajikistan.
The training module is also devoted to transboundary water resources management and strategies for water resources management under uncertainty related to climate change. In addition, the context of water resources management, challenges, and development opportunities for 5 basins in Tajikistan.
